The official hotel block for the 2013 Meeting of the Americas is now open. Reserve your hotel room through INTERMeeting, the official housing agent for the 2013 Meeting of the Americas.  The deadline to submit hotel reservations was Friday, 12 April 2013. Participants can submit their reservations at Krystal and Fiesta Americana through INTERMeeting, however, they are subject to availability and possible rate increase.

The following hotels are included in the 2013 Meeting of the Americas official block. The rates are only valid when reserved through INTERMeeting.

Cancellations:

  • Any cancellation must be sent to INTERMeeting on written notice by e-mail: avargas@intermeeting.com.mx
  • Cancellations made by telephone or directly to the hotel are not allowed.
  • Cancellations received up to Monday, 25 March 2013 will have no charge and deposits collected will be refunded.
  • Any cancellation received from Tuesday, 26 March 2013 will incur a penalty of two nights plus taxes and no refund of deposit will be made.

Reservation Changes:

  • Any change must be sent to INTERMeeting on written notice by e-mail at avargas@intermeeting.com.mx  or fax to +52 (55) 5663-0035.
  • Changes made by telephone or directly to the hotel are not allowed.
  • Changes in arrival date received up to 9 April 2013 will have no penalty.
  • Changes in arrival date received from 10 April 2013 will have a penalty of the charge previously made to the credit card provided. No refunds will apply.
  • If you are planning to extend your stay, please contact INTERMeeting. Any change is subject to room availability.

Additional information:

  • Group reservations (5 rooms or more) are managed separately. Contact Mr. Jorge Muñoz at INTERMeeting by e-mail at jmunoz@intermeeting.com.mx to reserve a group block.
  • Late check-out by 5:00 p.m. will incur a charge of 50% of room night rate. Check-out after 5:00 p.m. will incur a 100% of room night rate. Late check-out is subject to availability.
  • Incidentals should be paid at the hotel front desk at the time of your check-out.
  • Failure to check-in to the hotel on the date indicated in this form will incur a penalty: each hotel will keep the charge previously made to the credit card provided. No refunds will apply.
  • If you plan to leave the hotel before the date indicated in this form, notify the hotel upon arrival to avoid penalties.

Zero Percent Value Added Tax (VAT):
According to Mexican regulation, foreign attendees are eligible for Zero Percent Value Added Tax (VAT), which currently is 11% in Cancun, Mexico. To be eligible for this program, please be sure to bring with you the following documents:

  • Immigration document FMT: All foreign visitors (on business or tourism) receive an FMT when entering the country. These must be duly stamped by immigration authorities at the airport and valid during the period of the event.
  • Passport: Valid passport (main page, with picture of the attendee and personal data) of the candidates to be benefited with the Zero-rate.

It is the responsibility of each participant to provide the above documents at the hotel check-in. The hotel staff will help you photocopy the documents at check-in. If documents are not provided to the hotel, Zero-rate benefit will not be applied. Payments must be done by credit card issued by a foreign institution. Benefits do not apply when payments are made in cash or wire transfers. Zero Percent VAT applies two days after and two days before official dates of the Meeting of the Americas.
